Evergreen Leaders- Panakkad Pookoya Thangal (1917-1975)

Panakkad Pookoya Thangal was like a crescent moon in the spiritual renaissance of Kerala Muslims. He was an inspiration for all that occupy the positions of leadership. It was under his captaincy that Muslim League came once again among the people and the doors that closed before the ordinary people were open.

He had started and protected many institutions and offered support to many individuals. The police action in the erstwhile Hyderabad State in 1948 was a turning point in the history of Muslims in India. During that time members of Muslim League were hunted down. The cowards with their resignation letters were running to the newspaper offices.
